South Meck High School Senior Portraits | Charlotte NC

Maddie was my first spring portrait session this season. Some clients are hesitant to book their sessions this early, but I gotta tell you, it was perfect! While the flowers and trees here in Charlotte, North Carolina haven’t fully bloomed, or in some cases, even begin to bloom, we were able to make use out of some of these pink trees that are often found in shopping centers or lining the streets. I’m not sure what they are, maybe crabapples or dogwoods? The light is gorgeous when it’s no so obstructed by full foliage.

We worked in three locations between Ballantyne and Waxhaw. Ballantyne was our “city” location and Marvin Efird Park for our rustic natural location. This is my favorite place for field pictures. Maddie had multiple outfit changes and included a flower crown into the session! I had a super easy time planning this session with Maddie. She was receptive to my ideas, was on time for her consult, style consult and session, and was great communicating with me throughout the process. She was super chill and completely trusted me! Can’t ask for a better client than that! Scroll to the bottom to see how Maddie felt about the session!

Before and After

We like to keep things natural over here at NBP! I’ve included this before and after of Maddie so you can see my natural editing style. No trendy filters and no photoshop. I want clients to have their images feel current for years to come! One way to get great SOOC images is to have a talented make-up artist on your team, which I do! My basic edits include adjustments for exposure, temperature and contrast. My retouching process includes removing blemishes, hair flyaways, distracting objects and dark circles under eyes.

The blue dress and denim jacket above and the black dress and checked blazer AND the white booties are all items available to borrow from the NBP STYLE CLOSET

Black dress is from LA East boutique in the Blakeney Shopping center.
