I have been wanting to do a grunge graffiti skateboard senior portrait session for as long as I can remember. Through the years I had imagined doing it in NODA, a trendy neighborhood in Uptown Charlotte where there was plenty of colorful murals or at the skate park in Waxhaw. Recently, the hubs took me to one of his favorite shops in Charlotte, Black Sheep Skate Shop. They have this super cool wall of skateboards and as soon as I saw it I started planning it all out in my head.
Then, Black Friday came along and I bought myself a Sigma 35mm Art lens which I’ve been waning for about as long as I’ve wanted to do the skater girl photo session. So, I got my lens and put out a model call to the girls on my model team. So glad that Chloe jumped on it, because she was totally perfect for it. She has an eye for fashion, she’s totally unique and completely uninhibited which I find completely refreshing.
We headed down to Black Sheep Skate shop on a very cold and 43 degree day. It was sunny with some wind. We shot from 2:45-4:00pm. We shot a set outside the shop and then went inside. I asked the owner (a super cool and chill guy who’s name escapes me) if we could shoot a few pics and which he was totally fine with. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. The hat, beanie, and board are all from Black Sheep. Thanks guys for letting us hang out!
Hey! Would you be able to list where you purchased your outfits? I am doing senior photos soon and I really like these outfits 🙂
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! Unfortunately she brought all the clothes and I don’t know where she got them. I wish I could be more help.
