Natural and Urban Photo Shoot Locations in Ballantyne and Waxhaw

Tyler Belle, who is an NBP model team member, traveled from Concord to Ballantyne for senior pictures. She was eager for the change in location. Tyler opted for my two-hour Gold session which comes with two locations, multiple outfit changes, outfit styling and professional makeup.

Consultation

While planning her session she decided she wanted the best of both worlds and opted for a little bit city and a little bit country. Did you know, complimentary consultations come with all of my  session packages? During our consultation we finalized our locations to Ballantyne Village where we shot in and on top of the parking garage and Marvin Efird Park. Those were perfect because it gave her that edgy city vibe she was going for and the drive to the park in Waxhaw wouldn’t be too far.

Outfits

Outfits were a combination  of hers and some pieces we added from the NBP style closet. The red top, black leather jacket, and denim vest are NBP pieces. I typically encourage clients to wear a simple classic outfit that stands the test of time. Choose something that reflects you during this time of your life. It’s also very important to consider your locations when picking outfits.  Lastly, I encourage one fun or “extra” outfit.

My favorite “extra” pieces are usually a maxi dress and a hat. This is not something most teen girls generally where on a regular basis. However, maxi’s are so flattering for most figures, they allow you to move and flow for great natural and candid pictures. They also add a versatility factor when you add a jacket or hat (my favorite)! I have a ton of hats and maxi’s in the Style closet for clients to borrow. The two Tyler wore during her session were her own and I absolutely loved them.

From our first few shots Tyler was relaxed and posing like a superstar. I will always walk my clients through each pose, but I do encourage girls to work the camera a bit. Tyler was great at that. We spent about half our session in and on top of the parking garage with an outfit change and then we headed to the park to finish with the maxi’s in a more natural setting. In the end she got the perfect combo of what she was going for with a variety of outfits and locations.
