It’s official! After much contemplation, I have decided to retire the NBP Model Team for the upcoming Class of 2023. Many factors have led me to this decision and it was done with a heavy heart. I have LOVED working with and getting to know all the models with who I’ve worked with over the past 6 years.
Model opportunities will still be available
I will still be doing model shoots from time to time to test new lighting, locations, or creative themes I may be working on. Moving forward models will be cast on an individual basis through private and public model calls.
Here’s how it will work
Potential models ages 16-19 can get on my MODEL VIP list to be the first to be informed of any model calls. If no VIP List Models are available, the model call will be posted online and via social media.
AFTER A MODEL CALL IS ANNOUNCED, model call applicants will be required to:
- Fill out an application
- Send in 2 photos when applying, an unfiltered recent edit and full body shot
- Pay up to $150 for professional hair and makeup on shoot day
- Parent and model will need to sign model and liability release
As compensation, all models will receive professionally retouched high quality digital images from their shoot.*
*Model shoots are not the same as senior portrait sessions. They are typically highly stylized or themed.
Here’s a look at the Class of 2022 NBP Model Team at our first group shoot and meet and greet. I can’t even believe by looking at these pictures that this group met just minutes before starting this shoot. They really do look like they’ve been friends forever. This group comes from all over South Charlotte and even Boone! Reps here are from Cuthbertson High School, Weddington High School, Marvin Ridge High School, and Watuga High School.
I rented this VW bus for the day and had it delivered to my property. To keep things simple and casual I instructed everyone to come dressed in denim and a graphic tee-shirt. I had two assistants with me who helped in posing this large group. Posing groups can be a challenge sometimes but these kids were total naturals and very relaxed! We had so much fun and these large group shoots will be what I miss most. But who knows, maybe I will decide to eventually bring back the model team someday!
