Hey all! It’s Tip Tuesday, so please see the tip at the bottom of this post! This is one of my all time favorite teen photography sessions to date. I took Julianne, a Marvin Ridge high school senior to the Southpark area of Charlotte. We were doing a deluxe photo shoot, otherwise known as my Gold Package. She got four outfit changes, with some wardrobe provided (like this leather jacket from H & M Clothing) from the NBP Style Closet, two locations and professional make-up. It was right in the middle of summer, so it was hot, I mean HOT and humid, but we went with a leather jacket nonetheless. A leather jacket was not something she would normally wear, and I definitely pulled her out of her comfort zone but she was pleased with the results. I encourage clients to bring an assortment of clothing to their sessions. Yes, you might be hot and sweaty or freezing cold for that one outfit, but I promise it is worth it to have variety in your final gallery!
Julianne, was quiet and reserved at first, and so polite. She listened carefully to my tips and instructions about how the session would progress and how to pose. Just a few minutes into our session she had the whole thing under control! To say she was a natural is an understatement. She’s incredibly smart and athletic, so I doubt she’ll ever use modeling as a fall back, but, she definitely could! I loved so many of the pictures from her session (this is only a snippet of her gallery), I’m breaking her feature into two posts. Please check back on Thursday to see her other outfit and location!
Style Tips
- Always bring a variety of clothing to your session, no matter the season.
- Bring something you love even if it’s a sun dress in the dead of winter or leather jacket in the middle of summer!
- Be sure to keep in mind your location when considering what clothing to bring.
- Gather items that differ from one another in color, fabric, and style.
